This Sacred Embers has a bit more personal meaning to me. Don’t get me wrong, all of the Sacred Embers that I create mean so much to me, but this was a bit different. Someone that my brother had known MANY years ago (my brother being the “spark” of Sacred Embers), contacted me to create a Sacred Embers for her because her very special kitty, Buddy had passed away. It was such a wonderful thing to talk with her because it was another connection to my brother. I thank you David, I now have another friend.

My sweet Sapphire gave me 15 years of love. He was an amazing cat. I still have his actual sister, Olyvia and the Petunia who thought he was their mom.

I burried Sapphire where he can still look over our special neighbor Julie and his kitty friend Alica.

This Sacred Embers was hard to do. Olyvia, who has been mute her entire life except for an occasional trill now walks around the house meowing..........I think she is calling for her brother.

This Sacred Embers was created with his hair. In person, you can see one of the places that the hair was. The hair leaves different marks because it burns away. Much different than the ash.

Angus was her shadow and now he is gone to missed for a lifetime. In honor of Angus. The protector of babies of all kinds, the quiet teacher. A beautiful loving dog that was the companion of a woman with an incredible heart. Her mission in life: saving dogs and other animals. Angus was a giant part of that process. These Sacred Embers are for a woman that is honoring a time in her life that truly shows it was not her time to leave this earth. She was a survivor of the Mt. St. Helen's eruption. One of the pendants contains ashes from that incredible moment.
Because of her survival of that major event she was placed in the life of Frankie her cat. He was only around for a short time but their connection in this life is very significant. The other pendant represents Frankie's coloring and eyes, as does the ring.

These were the most difficult Sacred Embers I have ever created. I didn't realize how much energy I actually get from the information I receive about the person (or pet). This case I was contacted by Haven of Rest in Gig Harbor, WA and they gave me the name of the gentleman and that the recipients wanted blue Sacred Embers but I didn't have the other pieces of the "puzzle". (In the future they will get this other information for me). I think they are beautiful.

When I delivered them today the staff loved them. I hope that the recipients also love their Sacred Embers & that they find peace when they touch them.

Yesterday I delivered a Sacred Embers to a woman that is a dog rescue person. (Someone that I think has the biggest of hearts). Tao was only 6 months old when he had to be put down because he was deemed to be too timid. He really just needed a longer adjustment time.

When she brought me the ashes of Tao the pain was so very apparent. She brought me a picture to see, he was beautiful. I created this ring for her and the color of the glass is a reminder of Tao's coloring. I pray that the ring, when she looks at it on her finger reminds her of the precious work that she does and the love that Tao had because of her.

In honor of a longtime husband

I met with a lovely family that lost their father and husband. They were from England and listening to Rita talk about her beloved husband was a delight. It was important to complete her Sacred Embers in time to take with her to a big family event this coming weekend. Her Sacred Embers "glows from within". I hope that Rita's pendant brings peace to her in time because the pain she feels is still very evident.

Rita asked that I hold back some George's ashes so that if anyone else in the family would like a Sacred Embers created I would be able to do so immediately.

I read an incredible book "Visions, Trips, and Crowded Rooms" by David Kessler. It's about deathbed visions. Below is the book review that I wrote:
"Visions, Trips & Crowded Rooms was so wonderful! And, truly, it makes so much sense that people would come to help you along that journey to the "next place." Such a peaceful thought. The body is merely a vessel for the spirit. The spirit never dies and this book further confirmed for me that "they" are still around after that vessel wears out.

It demonstrates that it's not the medication or pain or hallucinations; it's those souls from before coming to visit and to escort. How lovely for the caregivers and family that are able to recognize that! What an incredible experience! I feel that anyone that works in the end-of-life field, as well as doctors and family that are having to deal with this should read this book. What an insight and probably filled with answers and comfort!

A woman came to me with the ashes of her husband that had passed away just one year ago from cancer. She said, "He was my best friend". A friend of hers that is a hospice worker saw my card and brought it to her. The moment she saw it she realized she had known me years ago and she viewed that as a sign that this is what she was looking for. Today I presented her beautiful Sacred Embers to her. She was thrilled and moved and I could tell it was a difficult moment for her. I pray that her Sacred Embers brings her peace.

My client brought me the ashes of her sweet dog LouLou that was her friend for a long 12 years. The pain was so clear through the tears and smiles as she told me about LouLou and showed me pictures of her life. She will obviously be terribly missed but I feel that her Sacred Embers pendant will bring her peace. When I presented this Sacred Embers to my client I did not know that that was actually the birthday of my client's mother. What an incredible honor to present this to her on this day. It was perfect and she loved it and it made it a more special tribute to her mother. This Sacred Embers included not only ashes from her mom but also a bit of her hair.

A portion of this sale will go to the Franciscan Hospice since that is who referred her to me.

When someone loses a person or pet in their life to death, for whatever reason, there is a void left. There are so many thoughts & memories. Sometimes, even anger for the "leaving". And of course there is the sadness & heartfelt pain. Take peace in knowing that your lost one will always be with you. When the vessel, or body can no longer survive, the spirit lives on! Take time to mourn, find closure and allow yourself to have sad moments, but know that "they" wouldn't want you to continue to be sad. They love you and want you to continue on with life. You will never forget them, that's not a possibility.

I can tell you from personal experience that it is never easy, but I know they would hope for more smiles than tears of sorrow.

I started creating Sacred Embers one-of-a-kind Cremation Jewelry because people had asked me for years to do something with my fused glass and their ashes, I never did until I knew that my brother, David Osborne, was going to die and ultimately would have his ashes. At this point I knew that I had to do something very special to honor him. SACRED EMBERS WAS BORN! Creating Sacred Embers has been the most amazing journey for me. I have been able to watch people be healed right before my eyes. The peace given to my clients has also brought me peace. I feel that a part of my heart goes with each Sacred Embers, to include tears and the respect of the great honor people are giving me by allowing me to create Sacred Embers for them. I wanted to be a safe place for people to come with the ashes of their beloved person or pet and provide a beautiful one-of-a-kind remembrance for them to be treasured. Sacred Embers brings with it a type of "perfect timing". Today I let a client know that her Sacred Embers for her sweet dog Digby was ready. She said that this had been a particularly difficult and emotional week and that this is perfect timing.

This has happened more than once. I can't wait to put Digby's Sacred Embers in her hands to bring her peace and comfort.

A very special Sacred Embers

A woman that I met loves her sweet dog very much. The dog had been hit by a car and ultimately she lost her leg. I had the request to make a Sacred Embers for the woman and a Sacred Embers "tag" for the dog with the ashes from her leg. This way she will always be whole.

I'd like to mention that her dog is doing very well. And soon she will have her special Sacred Embers on her collar! I feel so very blessed to have these incredible stories to share and the amazing people that I am able to meet in this journey of Sacred Embers.

Sacred Embers for Rupert

A couple that I had met sometime ago lost their beloved dog Rupert. The husband asked me to create a Sacred Embers with Rupert's ashes for his wife for their anniversary. He wanted a Sacred Embers that could be a key chain as well as a pendant. I did this. But I felt compelled to create one for him too. Afterall, it was their "baby" Rupert and their anniversary.

The email that I received follows: "....it was great. She cried when she received it and it came as a total shock. I gave her the choice of her pick. Thank you again and we are going to do something for Christmas as well."

I received this email this morning from a woman that I presented her Sacred Embers to last night. The Sacred Embers amulet was of her partner. THIS is so much why I do Sacred Embers. I have changed the names but the email is what she sent me:

"I've been holding Sue since I got home. I can't seem to set the stone down. Thank you for such caring work.

I did this so that I could carry a part of Sue with me all the time. The stone is more beautiful than I had anticipated, and it will be with joy that I show off your work to others.

Cougar's Sacred Embers amulet

Cougar's amulet is finished. It is beautiful and full of life and color as he was. I miss my Cougar Man. He was the most verbal of my cats. I'm guessing he was about 9 when he had to go. When he was younger the neighbors moved and left him behind. Being the resourceful guy that he was, he knew to come to my house. He slowly befriended our Rottweiler Amazon (who provided me with the very first ashes for Sacred Embers) and the other cats, Petunia, Sapphire & Olivia. They still miss him too.

These Sacred Embers were very special and interesting, they all are. But this woman contacted me from California and wanted Sacred Embers to honor her daughter that passed away from Cystic Fibrosis. Due to the wonder of Facebook I was able to learn more about her daughter (even though we talked for a very long time on the phone). One pendant has her daughter's ashes, the other pendant has their cat & daughter's ashes and the amulet is for her husband with just the cat's ashes. And the most wonderful part is that she was coming to Washington state and I was able to deliver the Sacred Embers to her in person! So very much touched my heart. I feel that I have made a new friend for life. Again, proving to me the incredible journey that Sacred Embers is taking me on.

I created these "sun catchers, ornaments...." for a woman with the ashes of her mom. These ornaments are for her brother and a sister. At first it was just going to be a pendant for her sister inlaw with the ashes of her parents but then she thought her husband would like an amulet to keep in his pocket, so he too, could have his parents close.

She just sent me a message and she just gave him the amulet and he began to cry. I am so lucky to help create closure and very special moments for others.

I have finished the amulet requested by a friend that lost her son. She did not want a piece of jewelry and she did not want to see the ashes. It is approximately 1/2" x 3". The ashes are encased between opaque dichroic glass on both sides, therefore the ashes are not visible, but they are there. Now she can place the amulet on a table top, in her pocket, in a plant...........anywhere. To bring her peace.

Today I had an order from a dear friend. She lost her son. She does not want a piece of jewelry so I am going to make an amulet that she can place on a table top or put in a plant, etc. Another request that she made was to have none of the ashes showing. Therefore the ashes will not be visible from the top or the bottom of the amulet and will be fused in between the layers. But she will know they are there. I will also be doing other pieces for the sisters of her son and her grandaughter. What an honor.
